Four Hints for Teachers

  1. Schools need new teachers to keep salary costs down, and experienced teachers to run ELICOS departments and specialist classes; so don’t be shy about declaring your status regardless of whether you are a recent graduate or seasoned professional.
  2. Taking relief-teaching jobs is a good way to showcase your teaching skills, and often leads to offers of fulltime employment.
  3. Enter your name, email and phone number only in the special boxes provided. This will restrict access to paid-up member schools and prevent spammers from accessing your details.
  4. Providing an active email address and telephone number will help potential employers make direct contact with you. (Only fully paid up Member Schools can access these details - they are not viewable by teachers, non-member schools or casual users).

Four Hints for Employers

  1. Begin your advertisement by telling people where the job is, what you are looking for and when you need the position filled, (e.g. Sydney school seeks General English Teacher from August).
  2. You can expand on this information in the next section e.g. job details, specific location, working conditions etc. (e.g. General English classes from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm five days a week in a fun and friendly school located in the CBD next to Town Hall Station. We pay above award rates and provide a friendly working environment with opportunities for advancement).
  3. The most recent teacher CV’s are placed on the top of the list, so if you are seeking a teacher go from top down.
  4. Read the Membership section for discount deals on advertising and information on how to access teachers contact details.
